Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR): Through the AVRR programme, IOM offers a dignified, safe and cost-effective return option for migrants who are unable or unwilling to remain in host countries and wish to return voluntarily to their countries of origin.
IOM’s AVRR services include assistance in transit and reception on arrival; pre-departure and post-arrival provision of information, counselling and referral services; onward transportation to final in-country destination; provision of immediate and longer-term reintegration assistance; and medical assistance.
Counter-Trafficking: Trafficking in persons is a crime that can destroy human lives. It gravely affects Afghanistan as a source, transit and destination country. Building on over a decade of counter-trafficking experience in Afghanistan, IOM currently carries out activities addressing human trafficking prevention, technical cooperation and victim protection.
